Alexander Rossi will return to Caterham Racing's GP2 squad for a second season in 2014, and will be joined at Leafield by Rio Haryanto who moves to the team from Barwa Addax.
"I am pleased to be back with Caterham Racing for 2014 fighting for a GP2 Championship," said Rossi, who will also continue to serve as the team's F1 test and reserve driver.
Rossi initially teamed up with Caterham in the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 Series before joining their GP2 operation in 2013, although he missed the pre-season preparations and the first race of the year in Malaysia where Ma Qinghua competed for the team.
"My 2013 program had some changes which meant I missed the pre-season tests and a couple of the early GP2 races," Rossi conceded. "However, throughout the season the team and I made some big progress and by Abu Dhabi we were definitely one of the cars to beat."
Rossi finished last season on a high by claiming his first victory in the championship with a hard fought win in the final feature race of the year at the Yas Marina Circuit. "This continued in the post-season tests and I'm quite confident about the pace in 2014," he added.
"We have a fantastic chance to win the GP2 title in 2014, while the F1 team achieves its goals of moving forward. This is an important era for all of us, as the sport enters a new generation. What a great way to start 2014!"
For the forthcoming season, the 22-year-old Californian will be joined by Rio Haryanto, who is entering his third year in the feeder series after stints at Carlin and Barwa Addax.
"It is a great feeling to sign with Caterham Racing for my 2014 GP2 campaign," said Haryanto. "I am also looking forward teaming up with Alexander Rossi. We are both strong Championship contenders and with our GP2 experience, we will work together to fight for both the team and driver Championships."
The 20-year-old from Surakarta in Indonesia has yet to claim victory in GP2, but came close with a strong second place in last year's sprint race at Silverstone which to date is his only podium appearance in the feeder series - something he aims to rectify as soon as possible.
