Tom Dillmann is to replace Andre Negrao in the Arden Motorsport line-up for this weekend's GP2 Series double-header in Barcelona after the Brazilian suffered a back injury.

Rookie Negrao had been due to take up his regular seat alongside Rene Binder in Spain, but succumbed to his injury on the eve of the event, leading to a late call to former series racewinner Dillmann.

Without a GP2 deal for 2014, Dillmann is currently racing in the French Porsche Carrera Cup, and will be making his single-seater return in Barcelona after missing the opening round of the F1 support series in Bahrain.

His first year in GP2 yielded a win with Rapax and 15th overall in the points but, paired with Sam Bird, the former German F3 champion helped guide Russian Time to the 2013 teams' title in its first season in the series. However, he ended his year on the sideline with a neck injury after another car landed on his cockpit in race one of the Abu Dhabi finale. He finished tenth in the overall standings.

Negrao expects to be back in action at round three of the campaign in Monaco later this month.

Over in the GP3 paddock, the final driver positions for this weekend's races were confirmed as Hilmer Motorsport announced who would be lining up alongside Ivan Taranov in the team's #18 and #19 cars.

The former goes to Canada's Nelson Mason, a three-time race winner in last year's European F3 Open Series in which he finished in third place overall. Mason had been working with Hilmer in the pre-season test sessions in Spain and had been widely expected to be handed the seat for the opening weekend of GP3.

Being a late addition to the GP3 grid after Russian Time's decision to withdraw in mid-March, Hilmer had not run a third car in any of the pre-season tests meaning that the identity of the driver of the #19 car was rather more up in the air. By the time that the drivers lined up on the grid for the traditional start-of-year class photographs, the team had finally revealed that the spot would go to Beitske Visser.

The 19-year-old Dutch driver will make her series debut in a GP3 car in Friday evening's free practice, having previously competed in four races in this season's Formula Renault 3.5 championship with AVF following two years of racing in the ADAC Formel Masters for Lotus.
