22-year-old Frenchman Norman Nato has signed up for a season in GP2 with Arden International, the team announced on Thursday.

Nato has spent the last two seasons with DAMS in the Formula Renault 3.5 championship, during which time he was victorious in the F1 support event in Monaco in 2014, one of two victories he enjoyed with the team. However DAMS have already confirmed their GP2 line-up for 2015 with Alex Lynn and Pierre Gasly, leaving Nato looking elsewhere for a place in the feeder series.

As well as Arden, Nato also spent time with Racing Engineering and Russian Time in the GP2 post-season test sessions held last November at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. However, he concluded that Arden was the best fit for him when it came to signing up for a race seat for a full season.

"I am delighted to join such an experienced and successful team for my debut in GP2," said Nato, who was also previously runner-up in both the 2010 F4 Eurocup 1.6 and the 2012 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps season.

"The Abu Dhabi tests went well and I had a great feeling with the team," Nato added. "Although I am a rookie, I aim to achieve a strong performance in 2015."

Nato's optimistic outlook was supported by his new boss, Arden team principal Garry Horner.

"We are delighted to have Norman sign with us for our GP2 Championship challenge this season," said Horner. "We have had the opportunity to observe him closely throughout his year in the World Series Championship and feel he is ready for the step into GP2 Series."

Nato is the eighth driver to be confirmed for the 2015 GP2 Series championship. As well as Lynn and Gasly at DAMS, Carlin have also announced their their line-up will consist of Marco Sorensen and Julian Leal, while McLaren F1 test driver Stoffel Vandoorne has also confirmed he will be back with ART in 2015 as he seeks to go one better than the runners-up position he achieved in his d?but season last year.

Also confirmed are Raffaele Marciello moving from Racing Engineering to Trident, and Arthur Pic remaining at Campos Racing for a second season.
