Robert Visoiu has joined Team Rapax for the upcoming GP2 season after graduating from three seasons in GP3.

The Romanian driver notched up two wins in three years in GP3 with a best season finish of 12th in the drivers' standings in 2013. The 19-year-old has also competed in the Auto GP series with Ghinzani Motorsport.

Team Rapax now have two talented rookies in the GP2 line-up for 2015, as Visoiu joins the already announced Sergey Sirotkin.

"I am very excited for this opportunity, I have been working hard with Pro Performance to be at my best and I am sure together with Rapax I will make good progress in 2015," Visoiu said. "It's going to be an interesting year in which I will have to learn many new things, but I am sure that I will be able to develop a good pace and to be competitive. I am very excited am I am looking forward to the start of the season."

Team Rapax's Gianfranco Sovernigo says he is thrilled to complete the partnership between his team and the up-and-coming Romanian star.

The team will commence pre-season testing from the 9-11th March at Abu Dhabi, with the season opener will take place on the 18-19th April in Bahrain.
