The final day of pre-season testing at the Yas Marina circuit saw Richie Stanaway put in the quickest lap in the morning as many teams practiced race set-ups in the afternoon.

In windy conditions Stoffel Vandoorne was the early pace setter until proceedings were halted after Artem Markelov stopped on track at turn seven. After the restart the majority of drivers used the soft Pirelli tyres to seek hot lap performance in the morning session. Mitch Evans was the first driver to break the 1m 49s lap time with an hour of the day gone.

At the halfway mark of the first session Stanaway put his foot down and grabbed top spot with a lap four tenths quicker than the rest and he remained top until the end. Pierre Gasly, who topped day one, ended the session in second ahead of Evans, Raffaele Marciello, Alexander Rossi, Vandoorne and Alex Lynn.

After the break Rio Haryanto was the early pace setter. The proceedings were halted after Rossi went off track and lightly hit the barrier at turn eight. The session restarted with one hour remaining but there was another short interruption after Zoel Amberg stopped at turn 14. The session resumed and Sirotkin found some extra pace to clock in a lap time of 1m 49.158s and moved up to P1.

A final red flag stalled proceedings, caused by Markelov, gave the drivers a ten minute shootout to put their last set of super soft tyres to good use, but none of the drivers could match Sirotkin's earlier effort.
