Simon Trummer is set to compete for Hilmer Motorsport in the fourth round of the GP2 Series this weekend at the Red Bull Ring.

The 26-year-old arrives off the back of his debut at Le Mans 24 Hours where he drove for LMP1 squad Team ByKolles. The Swiss driver has a wealth of experience in GP2 having spent the past three season in the series with Arden International (2012) and Rapax (2013 and 2014).

Trummer replaces Johnny Cecotto Jr for Hilmer Motorsport in the number 25 car and the former GP2 podium finisher is delighted to be handed an opportunity to return to the F1 feeder championship.

"I am very happy to be back in a GP2 car and to be part of Franz Hilmer's team," Trummer said. "I have great respect for Franz and for what he has achieved so far and I would like to thank Franz for this opportunity.

"I know the track in Austria but I have no experience with the new DRS on the GP2 car, but I am sure that I will adapt and be up to speed quickly. I can't wait to race again on Saturday."

Trummer will team-mate British driver Nick Yelloly who is making his debut in GP2 and scored his maiden points finish last time out in the Monaco feature race.
