GP2 pre-season testing dates announced

GP2 Series organisers have released the pre-season testing schedule with a three-day test at Circuit de Catalunya before a second test at Jerez.
GP2 Series organisers have released the pre-season testing schedule ahead of the 2016 campaign, with the full race calendar expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

GP2 teams will commence its first three-day test session at the Circuit de Catalunya between 9-11 March before travelling across Spain to Circuito de Jerez on 29-31 March. Both tests will be open to the media on each day.

The official GP2 Series race calendar will be announced within the next few weeks, with the traditional season curtain raiser expected to be at the Bahrain International Circuit alongside the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. However, with the race weekend scheduled for the 1-3 April it would only give teams a 24 hour turnaround between Jerez and Bahrain.

If the GP2 Series season isn't due to start in Bahrain the likelihood is 2016 will be launched at Sochi in support of the F1 Russian Grand Prix on the 29 April - 1 May.

well. normally we would had the dates by now but there seems to be a hold up somewhere. normally F1 said thier dates GP2 normally not far behind. I have a feeling this will start in Russia due to the fact that the test is a BIT TOO CLOSE to Bahrain + there might be weather issues in Spain. COME ON GP2 SPILL THE NEWS OUT
