Charles Leclerc has taken a clean sweep of top times in the two-day in-season GP3 Series test at Spielberg by taking the narrowest of margins over fellow Ferrari academy driver Antonio Fuoco.
The ART Grand Prix driver stormed to the top of the timesheet on the opening day and despite leading for large period of the second day saw his best time closed to within 0.012s by Trident's Fuoco.
Both times were set in the morning session with typically slower times set the afternoon due to conditions and differing test programmes.
The start of the session was frenetic with all of the drivers keen to undertake race simulations. Jenzer Motorsport's Oscar Tunjo set the initial pace ahead of Fuoco, Jake Hughes (DAMS) and Aitken.
Fuoco topped the timesheet after 45 minutes ahead of ART Grand Prix's Alexander Albon and Trident's Giuliano Alesi before Koiranen's Matthew Parry bettered the Italian's laptime by 0.027s. Seconds later Leclerc shot to P1 by 0.065s.
Ferrari Driver Academy's Fuoco then improved to second, this time just 0.012s off the Monegasque's fastest time but couldn't trump Leclerc's time before the lunch break.
In the afternoon session only a few small changes amongst the front-runners when Ferrucci jumped up to third in the latter stages, as dark clouds menacingly hovered over the Red Bull Ring.
GP3 is next in action for round two of the 2016 season at the Austrian track on 1-3 July.
