With an eye on both the drivers' and teams' championships at the final meeting of the World Series by Renault at Barcelona, Interwetten.com has enlisted the services of GP2 driver Franck Perera, the Frenchman replacing countryman Eric Salignon.

Coming to Barcelona with Andy Soucek leading the drivers' standings by two points, the Austrian team has also led the teams' championship since the opening round, when Salignon claimed two victories at a sodden Zolder

However, since the previous round of the series at Le Mans, a ruling has annulled the results from the first round of the series around the Belgian circuit, losing both the team and Salignon 15 points and putting it just six points ahead of Draco Multiracing.

With Salignon having proved out of form since that Zolder double, Interwetten.com has opted to sign the highly-regarded Perera, who recently proved the pacesetter in a post-season GP2 test for FMS International, to give it an edge in Spain. When he DAMS driver competed at the Spanish round of the GP2 Series earlier this season, he qualified sixth, even if he came away with no points.

Returning to the grid in Spain will also be Adrian Zaugg, fresh from his impressive performance in A1 Grand Prix, when he claimed victory at the Zandvoort season opener. The South African, who claimed two second place finishes at Donington Park, returns for Carlin Motorsport.
