Anyone doubting the wisdom of iSport International's 2007 GP2 Series line-up should have had their beliefs corrected after Andreas Zuber and Timo Glock set the pace at the final winter test in Valencia.
With the ink only just drying on their respective contracts, the duo worked through a programme of set-up options, which proved to be very productive, but still managed to top a competitive test with frontrunning pace, pleasing team boss Paul Jackson.
"I am very happy with the way everything went at the test," Jackson commented, "There is a great atmosphere in the team and I think we have justified our choice of drivers.
"However, there is a long way to go yet, and I fully expect the opposition to be even tougher next year than it was in 2006. Our aim is to remain focused on our job and keep pushing from every angle to try to maintain a high level of performance. Both drivers did an outstanding job, as did the whole team, so we can all take a well earned break over Christmas and be ready for the new season."
Zuber just pipped iSport 'veteran' Glock for the fastest time overall, but was less than three-hundredths of a second faster than the German. Happy with their performance, both drivers went on to complete race simulations on the final afternoon, allowing others a shot at the limelight.
