di Sabatino switches to GD
GD Racing has announced Pasquale di Sabatino will make the switch from Cram Competition to lead its 2007 World Series by Renault assault.

di Sabatino made his World Series debut in 2006, when he replaced Milos Pavlovic at Cram but, despite the team claiming at the time that di Sabatino's rapid graduation from Italian Formula Renault would be a prelude to a proper campaign for the World Series in 2007, and the youngster continuing to run with team during post-season testing, the handing over of Cram to British engineer Roly Vincini and the subsequent merger with P1 Motorsport is likely to have ended his hopes of remaining with the team.

Nonetheless, di Sabatino side-steps to fellow Italian competitors GD Racing, who go into the new season desperate to put a disappointing 2006 behind them, a year that yielded just five points and was affected by a double walkout of drivers Patrick Pilet and Matteo Meneghello by the sixth round.

"This is the right choice for me," di Sabatino insisted, "I wanted to go to GD Racing because I was impressed with the team's professionalism during the winter test at Vallelunga. Christian Giardina is a special engineer, capable of directing you with useful advice. I am convinced that, together, we can do really well, and I am looking forward to beginning my new adventure".

A second driver is yet to be announced but it is worth noting the team have enticed the likes of race winners Christian Montanari and Ben Hanley to test for them over the winter period.
