Bruno Senna capped off a breakthrough weekend with another strong result in the second GP2 race of the weekend in Barcelona, the Brazilian following his maiden win with a fourth place finish.
Starting eighth courtesy of the reverse grid system, Senna made a repeat of his stellar start from the first race, getting up third by the first corner, even if he did slip back to fourth by the end of the opening lap when Timo Glock got the better of him.
It was a position he would maintain to the finish line, the Arden International racer pressuring countryman Lucas di Grassi in the latter stages but choosing to not make a bid for a second trip to the podium and bag the three points.
"It's not easy to overtake here and I needed to save the tyres until the end of the race. Unfortunately we weren't so strong in traction so I couldn't take advantage of the straights, but I learned where Lucas was struggling and tried to push him into making a mistake there. I didn't try too hard to overtake because I didn't want to lose the championship points, but I did my best.
“To go from eighth to fourth in this race at this circuit isn't bad anyway. I've moved from fifth to second in the championship over this weekend, so it's not bad for my first year! I had a good weekend in Bahrain and I've really enjoyed myself here and I had a good race today. I had a lot of fun and I just wish I'd had three more laps, because I probably could have passed Lucas."
