As expected following positive medical reports since the Magny-Cours round of the GP2 Series, Davide Valsecchi will be back in the Durango line-up for this weekend's double header at the British Grand Prix.

The Italian suffered a serious back injury in qualifying for the Istanbul round early last month, interrupting a promising season in which he followed regular points in the inaugural GP2 Asia Series with increasing pace in the summer competition.

With no set timescale for his recovery, Valsecchi was replaced by both Marcello Puglisi and deposed Campos GP2 driver Ben Hanley in the intervening rounds, but is now champing at the bit ahead of his return, having initially hoped to be back in harness at Magny-Cours.

"At last!" he enthused, "I have never felt such a great wish to get back at the wheel all over my life. In Istanbul, when the accident happened, I was superfast, and I want to restart like this, being superfast at Silverstone as well."

Valsecchi's return is disappointing for Hanley, who now looks likely to sit out his home round after being dropped by Campos in favour of Renault F1 tester - and 2007 GP2 runner-up - Lucas di Grassi, who repaid the team's decision with a healthy dose of points at Magny-Cours.
