Davide Rigon is to join Campos Racing for this weeks two-day GP2 test session at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

Rigon, who has spent the 2008 campaign running in the FIA GT Championship and has also helped Beijing Guoan to the lead of the new Superleague Formula standings, will make a return to the GP2 paddock having tested at Paul Ricard last year as a reward for clinching the 2007 Euro F3000 crown.

The young Italian admitted he was keen to make the most of the opportunity given to him by the front-running team and said he was hopeful of carrying his strong form from the Superleague season into the two-days of running.

"I am really pleased to be able to return to drive a GP2 car and, above all, with a team as important as Campos," he said. "For me it will be the first time both on the track in Jerez and with the new Dallara, having tested last winter in the first version of the car as a reward for having won the F3000 championship.

"It will be a great opportunity to show my potential and, therefore, I will try to exploit it in the best possible way. I am in physically ready, as shown in my results in Superleague Formula."
