Roldan Rodriguez set the pace for Piquet Sports as the two-day GP2 Series test session at Paul Ricard drew to a close.
In wet conditions that led to a number of red flags throughout the day, Rodriguez was able to post the quickest time during the afternoon session, ending up two-tenths of a second clear of day one pacesetter Kamui Kobayashi.
The morning running had seen Davide Valsecchi set the pace, as was the case on the first day of testing yesterday. Valsecchi's time of 1min 27.826secs was nearly ten seconds slower than he managed on day one, indicating how poor track conditions had become thanks to the rain.
Valsecchi ended the morning just ahead of Rodriguez, with Kobayashi slotting into third. Dani Clos for Racing Engineering was fourth, with the top six rounded out by Vitaly Petrov and Jerome D'Ambrosio.
Conditions weren't much improved in the afternoon, although Rodriguez was able to able to lap eight-tenths of a second quicker than the morning's best time with a quickest tour of 1min 27.038secs. Kobayashi slotted into second place with Petrov third, with Luis Razia, Clos and Julian Jusse – who managed just three laps during the morning – completed the top six.
With the focus now turning to the remainder of the GP2 Asia Series campaign, regular season testing will resume in the New Year.
