Sergio Perez has take his second win of the GP2 Asia Series season after Campos Racing dominated the sprint race under lights at Losail.
Perez and team-mate Vitaly Petrov made stunning starts to blast through into first and second by the first corner, with front-row starters Luiz Razia and Edoardo Mortara both having been slow away from the line and then holding up Davide Valsecchi as he attempted to find a way past.
Petrov held the early lead but heading into turn one at the start of lap two, Perez was able to take the lead and the former British F3 racer held his position through to the finish ahead of Petrov.
Nico Hulkenberg, winner of the feature race, completed the podium although he was unable to launch a challenge to the front-two after spending much of the race stuck behind the slower car of Mortara.
By the time he managed to battle past at turn one on lap 15, the top two were already nearly ten seconds down the road and the German was left to settle for third place.
Mortaro was left to finish in fourth place despite his tardy start while Valsecchi battled his way past Razia to take fifth.
A disappointing result for Kamui Kobayashi, who could manage only 18th, means his lead in the standings has been cut to just ten points by Valsecchi, with Hulkenberg third and Perez now up to fourth.
