Yas Marina GP2 test times - February 6

6 February 2011

The third day of GP2 Asia Series pre-season testing was held on Sunday, February 6 at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

It is the first day of the second two-day test of the week, and for this test the teams have been using the shorter 4.730km track configuration that it how the track will be used for the GP2 Asia series opening race on Friday. As a result, lap times were some 12s quicker than the times seen during he first two-day test on the longer track set-up.

All 26 drivers from the 13 teams were able to take part during both the morning and the afternoon sessions. The weather was clear blue skies, with none of the problems seen on the first day of testing mid-week that included fog, rain and sand on the circuit.

This second two-day test will conclude tomorrow, which will be conducted on the same shortened track configuration. The GP2 Asia season starts with qualifying on Thursday at 1.25pm GMT and the first feature race of the series will be on Friday, February 11 at 12.55pm GMT.
