Turkey - Qualifying times

Romain Grosjean held off a strong late challenge from Sam Bird to claim the first pole position of the 2011 GP2 European series at Istanbul Park, Turkey.
Drier conditions didn't prevent the first qualifying session of the 2011 GP2 European series from featuring three red flag stoppages for incidents involving Davide Valsecchi, Mikhail Aleshin and Michael Herck. Romain Grosjean put Dams on top at the midpoint of the session, and he held on to the top spot until the final red flag ended the qualifying session slightly before the full scheduled half hour running time.

Current GP2 champion Christian Vietoris, who was fastest in this morning's wet free practice session, had an early spin during the session and ended up in ninth place on the starting grid of the feature race at Istanbul Park, Turkey, which starts on Saturday at 1.40pm British time, 3.40pm local time.
