Barcelona - Test times - March 7

Lotus GP's Esteban Gutiérrez went to the top of the timesheets on the second day of pre-season testing at Barcelona, with a lap just 0.004s ahead of Caterham's Giedo van der Garde.
Esteban Gutiérrez's morning lap time of 1:28.740s proved to be the fastest of the second day of GP2 pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya just outside Barcelona in Spain, but it was only four thousandths of a second faster than the time set by Caterham Racing's experienced driver Giedo Van der Garde.

In the afternoon, Julian Leal went to the top of the timesheets with a lap of 1m 29.653 almost a second outside of the fastest morning times. Ocean Racing's Nigel Melker also had a good afternoon, slotting into second less than three hundredths back from Leal.

The final day of pre-season testing starts tomorrow at 9am local time. After that, the cars get crated up for transportation to the season opener at Sepang, Malaysia in March 24.
