Racing Engineering's Fabio Leimer was by far the quickest man on track at Silverstone in wet qualifying for Saturday's feature race 1, ending up over nine tenths faster than anyone else could manage.

Johnny Cecotto Jr. claimed second spot to start alongside Leimer on the front row of tomorrow's starting grid, with Jolyon Palmer shooting up to third place late in the session and Stefano Coletti having to put in a late effort to climb back to fourth place ahead of an all-Lotus GP third row of Esteban Guti?rrez and James Calado.

There was one red flag 20 minutes into the half hour session, for two cars that stopped on track with a seeming electrical cut-off in the wet, cool conditions.
