Hockenheim - Race results (2) - Updated

22 July 2012

A first lap spin at the hairpin wrecked Luiz Razia's hopes of extending his championship lead, but his chief rival Davide Valsecchi had problems of his own and also finished out of the points in a Hockenheim sprint race dominated from pole position by Lotus GP's James Calado.

Caterham's Giedo van der Garde followed in Calado's foot steps ahead of DAMS' Felipe Nasr who took the remaining position position. Fabio Leimer came home in fourth place after surviving an early challenge from Saturday's feature race winner Johnny Cecotto Jr.

Valsecchi was subsequently promoted into the points after the race, after penalties hit Jolyon Palmer and Stefano Coletti for overtaking under local waved yellow flags.
