Hungary - Qualifying times

27 July 2012

Carlin's Max Chilton was the last man out on a flying lap at the Hungaroring, and was rewarded for his perfect timing with his maiden GP2 pole position for the Saturday feature race with a lap of 1:28.980s.

That displaced James Calado from what had seemed an assured top spot on the timesheets, although the Lotus GP driver will have a two-place starting grid penalty after having been judged to have blocked Felipa Nasr in Friday morning practice.

As a result Calado will line-up in fourth place on the grid alongside iSport's Jolyon Palmer, while DAMS' Davide Valsecchi is promoted to the front row of the grid for the start of the race.
