Max Chilton got a great start off the line from pole position in the
GP2 feature race at the Hungaroring, and was able to maintain his position over DAMS' Davide Valsecchi and Arden's Luiz Razia through the mandatory pit stop cycle.
During the middle section of the race, Chilton had to cope with fending off his rivals while stuck behind cars that were leaving their own pit stops much later. Once the road ahead was clear again, he ended up having to withstand heavy pressure from Valsecchi over the final two laps to the finish line, but the Carlin driver was able to on to take the chequered flag by six tenths.
The race was free of safety car interruptions, despite two separate heavy crashes for Johnny Cecotto Jr. and Felipe Nasr who both straightlined off at turn 1 into the tyre barrier.
