Singapore - Friday practice

Esteban Gutiérrez featured strongly in the sole Friday morning practice ahead of qualifying for the GP2 season finale feature race in Singapore, as Lotus GP bid to claim the team championship.
Esteban Gutiérrez was never far from the top of the timesheets in a wet practice session on Friday afternoon on the street circuit at Singapore, ahead of this weekend's final round of the 2012 GP2 Series season.

Gutiérrez's time of 2:14.339s proved the best anyone could manage in the tricky conditions, although there were strong efforts from Fabio Leimer, Stefano Coletti, Johnny Cecotto Jr. and from Gutiérrez's own rookie team mate James Calado, making it a good session for Lotus as they seek to win the team championship title.

In the drivers' championship, the two remaining contenders for the title had a quiet time and didn't bother to feature high up the timesheets at any time. Davide Valsecchi finished the 30 minutes in 14th place over two seconds off Gutiérrez's time while Luiz Razia was a further second off the pace and back in 20th.
