GP2 Spain 2013: Friday practice times

Felipe Nasr topped the times in the dry Friday morning practice session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
Carlin's Felipe Nasr set the early pace in Barcelona with a best time on Friday morning of 1:30.103s on the 4.655-km (2.892-mile) Circuit de Catalunya just outside Barcelona, Spain.

He was a full three quarters of a second faster than James Calado in the new-livery ART. Johnny Cecotto Jr. narrowly edged Nasr's team mate Jolyon Palmer for third spot.

Although the drivers had some lock-up fun exploring the limits of what they can achieve it was a relatively quiet session which remained dry throughout, the track having dried off during the preceding F1 Free Practice 1 session. Even so, Simon Trummer managed to spin his Rapax backwards through an advertising hoarding in the final section midway through the 30-minute session.

Daniël de Jong was also forced to park trackside when his MP Motorsport ground to a half on its out lap at the start of the session.
