Abu Dhabi: GP3 Qualifying times

Daniil Kvyat will start race 1 in this weekend's final round of the GP3 Series from pole position, giving him the upper hand in his championship battle with Facu Regalia.
MW Arden's Daniil Kvyat has set himself up with the best possible opportunity to go into the lead of the GP3 Series championship after winning pole position in the Saturday morning qualifying session at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Kvyat, who will move up to F1 in 2014 as Daniel Ricciardo's replacement in the Scuderia Toro Rosso car, set a lap time of 1:55.473s to go a quarter of a second clear of Carlin's Nick Yelloly, while Kvyat's chief rival for the title Facu Regalia could only manage tenth spot on the grid in the ART after locking up on his final flying lap bid.

The bonus points for pole position mean that Kvyat is now only three points behind Regalia in the standings going into this afternoon's first 14-lap race, which will be held at 6.35pm local time (2.35pm GMT) making it the series' sole race weekend track session of the year to be held after dark under the floodlights.
