Marcus Ericsson

Marcus Ericsson

Marcus Ericsson was one of the names bandied around pre-season as a possible championship contender, but it never really came together for the 22-year-old Swede. He finished out of the points in all of the first four races of the year, and then a brief uptick in the second weekend at Bahrain led into another pointless slump at Barcelona. Finally things started to look up for the iSport driver with two feature race runner-up finishes at Monaco and Valencia, but just as it looked as though he might be able to salvage the season he went into another funk that lasted all the way through to Hungary. Things finally came together after that, and following all the problems bedevilling him up to that point in 2012 he ended up with six consecutive points finishes - including second place in the season finale at Singapore, and a famous victory in the feature race at the historic Spa-Francorchamps.
