Cover of the 1964-1965 Autocourse annual. John Surtees snatched the title at the last gasp in a three-way showdown at the final race in Mexico. His rivals Jim Clark and Graham Hill hit trouble, and the ex-motor-cycle racer became the only man to win World Championships on both two and for wheels.
