As was the case with Krohn Racing, Michael Shank Racing saw both cars fail to make it through the night at Daytona with engine woes accounting for the both the #6 and the #60 car.

AJ Allmendinger had taken the #6 car to the lead of the race before he stopped on track with a sensor failure.

The #60 car was then hit with the same problem and was forced to stop while running in fourth.

“This is a huge disappointment for us because we've never had any kind of problem like this before, and to have both team cars get knocked out while running so strong is just a punch in the gut,” team boss Michael Shank said.

“If we weren't going to win this race, we wanted at least to start off right in the championship with some good points and a strong result but unfortunately that's not the way it played out tonight.”
