Experienced Grand-Am Rolex Series driver James Gue has been added to Tafel Racing's driver line-up for upcoming events in the schedule at Barber Motorsports Park and Iowa Speedway.
For Gué, this will be a return to the GT class in the Rolex Series having competed in the class on four previous occasions this year, piloting a Stevenson Motorsports Corvette at Watkins Glen and Daytona, whilst alos racing a Pontiac GXP.R for Racers Edge Motorsports at Virginia and Laguna Seca.
This time though he will be driving a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car with co-driver Nathan Swartzbaugh, much to his delight.
"I am really thrilled about Iowa and Barber," said Gué. "Tafel Racing has an incredible reputation of success and professionalism. To get to run with such a high profile team is a huge opportunity for me. I'm friends with Nathan, but we've never raced together before, so that will be exciting.
First and foremost, I need to thank Jim Tafel and Tony Dowe for having me in the car for these two races. I am going to do my absolute best behind the wheel of the Porsche and hopefully come away with podium results at both events."
This season Gué is also competing in the Koni Challenge Series, where he is currently 3rd in points, as well as select road racing events throughout the rest of the 2007 season.
