MCM completes Rolex line-up.

Matt Connolly Motorsports has confirmed its second driver for the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Series season.

The GT class squad has announced that German driver Jan Seyffarth will join Diego Alessi in the #21 Pontiac GTO-R, with the former F3 raced admitting he was exciting about the prospect of racing for the team.

“After a very good test, I am happy to be able to join the Grand Am field with a good driver pairing and a fast car,” he said. “Now MCM, Seyffarth Motorsport and P1 Groupe will combine its efforts to compete for the full season.

“I haven't met Diego yet, but based on what I've heard, I think we will be consistently fast. Diego had a great run in Daytona qualifying to put the GTO-R in fifth place on the grid and showed his real potential. Because of his endurance background, he knows how to finish a car and how to do it at speed.

“After that first test, I am certain the car has much more potential than what we got out of it already. Together with Diego, we are going to work with the engineers to get the most out of the Pontiac throughout the season.”

The team will now hope to sign a third driver for the longer events on the calendar in due course.
