, which broadcast over 14 hours of live action, saw its viewing figures rise by an impressive 47 per cent, while the initial tune-in on FOX
averaged nearly one million households and 1.2 million viewers.
The event featured the closest finish in the history of the Rolex 24 as David Donohue beat Juan Pablo Montoya to victory, with the top four cars covered by just ten seconds.
"We feel the Rolex 24 was an excellent start to our 2009 season, and are happy that the television viewership reflects that," Roger Edmondson, president of Grand-Am Road Racing, said.
