Spirit of Daytona Racing has announced the signing of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Paul Menard for January's Rolex 24 at Daytona – the opening round of the 2010 Grand Am Rolex Series season.
Menard will line-up alongside season-long drivers Buddy Rice and Antonio Garcia at the wheel of the #90 Porsche Coyote, which will run in the classic Menard yellow for the round the clock event.
Menard has previously driven for the team when it was known as Flis Motorsports, while Garcia and Rice head into the event as defending winners – having partnered David Donohue and Darren Law to success with Brumos Racing earlier this year.
“We are really looking forward to this year's Rolex 24 and having Paul back on board with us,” team owner Troy Flis said. “Buddy and Antonio won last year's 24 Hours at Daytona, and Paul has certainly come through for the Spirit of Daytona team in his previous Grand Am appearances. When you combine the progress we made last season developing the car with that level of driver talent, then you definitely have Victory Lane potential.”
