Luke Hines is to make his debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona after agreeing a deal to join Miller Barratt Racing for the opening round of the Grand-Am Rolex Series season.

The British driver will head to the USA this weekend to take part in the annual pre-event tests at Daytona International Speedway before returning to the circuit at the end of the month for the round the clock event.

Hines will be joined at the wheel of the #48 Porsche 911 by Bryce Miller, Peter Ludwig and Kevin Roush.

"I've been preparing for the Daytona 24-hour race for the last two months, training really hard and getting myself into the best physical shape I've ever been in," Hines said. "I'm not just going over to Daytona to compete, I'm looking forward to kick-starting the year off by winning the GT class. That's what I'm focused on achieving and that's the goal I've set myself."

Miller Barrett Racing co-owner Paul Miller said he was pleased to have Hines onboard and was happy with the line-up in place.

"The Daytona 24-hour race requires a special mentality and maturity, and we really like the mix of talent, pace and experience we will have to get the job done," he said. "Even though we are a small team, with only our single Porsche entry, we believe we can be very focused, present a first-class effort across the board and compete at the front."
