"In the first part of the race, it was very difficult to find my rhythm because there were various accidents in front of me," he recalled, "Later, the car did not have grip, especially at the rear, and it only improved after our stop. We had an interesting strategy but, this time, the yellow flag arrived too late for us, and we had to stop under the green flag and that lost us many positions and a lap to the leaders."
The second half of the season should play more towards Viso's traditional strengths, with more of the sort of road and street courses on which he learned his trade coming up. Having already taken fourth place on the streets of St Pete, confidence is high in the HVM camp.
"We preferred to be cautious and avoid unnecessary accidents [at the end of the Richmond race]," he admitted, "It makes no sense to take risks if you do not have a car that is competitive, so we concentrated on finishing the race and not finishing in the barriers.
"Our patience was rewarded with tenth and now we head to the first of the permanent road courses. We expect to get a good result at Watkins Glen."
