Has the Indy 500 always been so boring?

Looks like pit stops determined the race. Didn't seem like anyone could pass once they got behind. And if they try to pass and get blocked, they'd lose 2-3 positions as a result.

it's what happens when you have control tyres and cars with rev-limited engines. No one can pass unless the other guy screws up in some way or has mechanical problems. Also means contact happens a lot.

Pit stops determine.....control tires...tough to pass.....rev-limited engines. The EXACT same things are said of Formula 1. Except at Indy - after 500 miles -the top ten were only 7.3 seconds apart.... compared to today at Monaco - that was the distance between first and second. (actually.....Barichello was 7.6 secs back)

Monaco's top three was decided at the first turn of the first lap. Done. Drama over.

Castroneves had been written off. Wheldon was nowhere all day. Danica languished in the bottom of the top ten all day.

To a lot of people - yeah, it looks boring. IMHO - and this isn't ridiculing anyone - pay closer attention and you'll realize there is a LOT more going on.

Castroneves deserved this win. His troubles caused lack of pre-season testing and the missed season opener as well. All this court deal costed a big amount of nerves for him. That was his race - white stripe comes after black one

Glad to see Paul Tracy got into the top10. Good run for Danica too.

Danica was awesome. Happy to see her win a top 3 finish.

Indy needs urgently multi chassis, engine and tyre manufacturers competing against each other.

how on the hell can u compare indy500 and monaco gp you cant ones a boring 500 mile lets turn left and the other is a fantastic street race shame on you to even compare them
