... and of course there were the Indy 500's where they were manipulated so that an IRL driver won when the Champ Car drivers were in the lead...

All too true. I worked in Champ Cars when IRL came along to 'keep it American', so now a Japanese engine, Italian car and struggle to get 20 on the grid AFTER unification. Ten years back you 27 racing in CART, why ruin it? Oit took time but such a waste, and I'm from the UK! Do love NASCAR tho ......

They should have fired him in 1995.

At that time CART was second only to F1.

Now the IRL is a last resort to those who really bite. I recall an INDY 500 when 5 CART racers took the top 5 spots and spot 6 went to a taxi driver and the IRL teams were a joke.

So he destroyed a great but flawed series (as is every series) and replaced it with a piece of crap and ran down the INDY 500 to a whatever event. Looks like he was allowed 14 years too many to cause destruction.

agreed on both

He lasted long enough to ruin US openwheel, give the keys to the term racing to nascab and I don't care anymore. I live less than a ten minute walk from the Toronto start finnish line and will be far away that weekend. I have nothing for any of these idiots.

What a complete jerk off

Good riddance, now if only Mosley would follow his lead.
