He may not have anything to prove anymore - but he's not old and needs to pay the mortgage. Other than running sportscars in Europe or the US what else can he do other than head for the IRL?

Only concern would be his lack of oval experience - which like with Wilson may put him at a disadvantage.

Once he gets F1 out of his system - I think he may end up in the IRL next year in say the Andretti Green team.

What's pleasant about this story is, that although Paul doesn't like Seb, he still acknowledges he's a top-notch driver... something that's usually never drawn upon when other people go hunting for blood

The picture makes me realise that Bourdais is actually quite a big guy.

Anyway, it's obvious that Seb's current priority is to stay in F1 and the fact that his manager is named Todt might help...

If he has to go back in US, I think he'll do that, after all, he hasn't raced in the IRL series yet. As for his ability on ovals, He's already won oval races in CCWS and even an IROC race IIRC.

Maybe he would do Nascar as well, that would be quite a challenge for a Frenchie !

Watching Seb and Tracy go at it again would be good entertainment, but I don't think Bourdais would rule the roost in the IRL as he did during his Champ Car days. If he lands Doornbos' under performing seat, he would struggle on ovals and the Newman Hass road/street package isn't performing that well. Plus, the talent pool is pretty deep.

No question he has gobs of talent, but I think he'd run mid pack (or worse) in the IRL.
