As good as it is to see AGR giving their long time Indy Lights Partner AFS and the underrated Frenchman a chance in the big show, shouldn't they rather try to make the other 4 cars working instead of adding another one? Just a thought.

The problem for next year is that the driver who is underperforming the most is the son of the team owner. Andretti's stint in A1GP pretty much showed he doesn't have what it takes to compete in a competitive real racing series.
I doubt AGR would want to get rid of Kanaan since he is so clearly their best driver, by quite some margin. Danica obviously is an asset to the team for different reasons than driving...Which leaves Mutoh. The Honda sponsoring might go to Taku and he isn't doing well enough to justify him having the seat on merit...However, as of late he's doing better than Andretti, so by sending him away it would become painfully obvious why Marco Andretti is still there.

I thought Franck would have landed a seat for this season. Hopefully he will do well at Sears Point and can get a ride for next season. Could we see 2 French men in the IRL in 2010?

I believe AGR is lining up Montagny to replace Danica, who appears to be a lock at Target Ganassi Racing.

He is obviously a very good driver and will be a good addition to the series.

@ JJ

How can you say that Danica is only good for things other than driving when she is the points leader for the AGR Team ? As for Montagny--we will see !!!

@John

She is the points leader in the AGR team, but obviously Kanaan had a torrid season so far. Even apart from that, a lot of her points came from 4th, 5th, 6th places. I've seen a couple of races this year (now Doornbos is driving most of the races are broadcasted live here this year) and although Danica gets really consistent results with solid drives, the out and out pace never seems to be there.

In qualifying she has been far from impressive, so much so that in any other racing series it would mean the weekend is pretty much over.

She gets 4th and fifth all the time, but is never in contention for a win or usually even a podium, unlike Kanaan for instance, who does have that pace.

Great news! Franck had a very impressive run in his only Champ Car race at Long Beach. He will be a nice addition to the driver line up. Hope he lands a full time drive next year.
