IndyCar » 'Special talent' Carroll inks Andretti deal

Congrats to Adam! He will have good equipment, and be driving for a good team. I hope he can do well.

But just as Takuma Sato is finding out, Adam is going to have a tough time competing against some very talented drivers. Sato is 24th in the standings after 4 road/street courses. With 4 ovals coming up, it's going to be even more difficult for him to move up in the standings.

I just hope Adam doesn't languish near the bottom of the standings next year.

In these economic hard times, it's fantastic to see a team able to sign a driver purely on talent rather than fundign or nationality. Adam has serious potential, alhough we can't be sur ethat he can adapt to the ovals. A shame if Hunter-Reay loses out as a result though.

Just goes to show what a cut throat business this 'sport' is. I am sure he would be doing very good at Mercedes F1 instead of Schumacher, perhaps they will offer him a drive. Adam is simply a talent who will deliver and give points. However I am delighted (because I am also an Irish man) he will be in IndyCar. Just hope he gets a seat for 'The 500'. Nothing would make my day than seeing him winning 'The Greatest Spectacle In Racing'- that is the Indy 500! :) :D

@ Don

It will be interesting to see how Adam performs.

I too have been quite surprised with certain drivers that I thought would do very well in Indy Car(most recently Sato - dead last in the standings after 4 road courses) but have performed poorly.

He will find flying around Texas Motor Speedway at 220 mph an interesting experience.

I'm quite surprised we haven't seen more A1GP drivers trying to get in to Indy Car.

More than $3M for winning just the Indy 500! Over $1M bonus for winning the championship. Where do I sign up?
