An awkwardly-timed mid-race pit stop under caution left the leaders all needing a late splash-and-dash top-up of fuel, except for Helio Castroneves whose mid-race advance planning handed him a triumphant victory - with series returnee Ed Carpenter just eking out his fuel to claim a welcome if rather unexpected second place.
