IndyCar » Alesi mooted as Las Vegas 'wild card'

The latest name to be mentioned in connection with a 'wild card' entry into the 2011 IndyCar Series finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is that of none other than former Ferrari F1 star and Canadian Grand Prix-winner Jean Alesi...

That sounds cool ! As much as I love Alesi, he has no - that I know - experience on ovals, let alone super speedways. Being part of the Indy 500 too would make sense in order to get as much training as possible.

I never thought his ambassador role for Group Lotus would yield something like that for one of my faves, the oh so entertaining Jeannot !

Many thought he would join the Indy ranks after his F1 career, so never say never. Who knows, if it unfolds nicely he might have a full season in 2012.

But please Jean, stay safe...
