Three time F1 world champion Sir Jackie Stewart is to be inducted into the Auto Racing Hall of Fame in Indianapolis, as part of the celebrations leading up to the centennial Indy 500.

richly deserved and long overdue.

the lads from across the pond changed the face of indy for all time. for the better!

only the lamest of homers wasn't thrilled to see those little cars put the antique, old tech, stagnant thinking american beasts one step closers to the museums they reside in today...

and all those guys did it w/ civility and intelligence expressed it an articulate manner. what u say

Must agree with your comment chasmunch. The quality of the European pioneers in indycar reads like a whose who in the annals of F1, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart, what a list!!
Homegrown talent like Dan Gurney and the amazing Mario Andretti complete my list of truly awesome talent. I personally loved those old dinosaurs and some of the innovation was brilliant and I still feel that a very well designed fronter could do well at Indy but it won't happen.
