A dramatic climax to a week of practice and qualifying at Indianapolis saw Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Pippa Mann and Paul Tracy get on the grid for the 2011 Indy 500.

This is Indy...this is all part of the drama that unfolds...no one cares what outsiders say about bump day...you don't hear mike conway gripeing about the system used to set the field...
The AMA uses a last chance qualifier to fill their flat track fields...those rounds go off like finals, elbow to elbow.
Every year bigger names get in on bump day, or miss out. Absolutely gutted?...ahhh, buck up lad, we'll see ya next year.
Indy is a lifetime endeavour, unless you lose that life...plenty have at the 500. Conway knows the score, ask him.
Who's running best 1 week from the green flag?...that's who they want in the field. Don't worry Conway fans, he'll be there next year. No one denied him his place on the grid by stealing it from him...just ask him.
