Look at that big fat ol' grin on Bobby Unser. He's loving it!

Every year it seems like this event gets more kick ass. The old Indy Cars and drivers will be awesome - I wish I was going to be there.

RawDawg, I have been to this event three times now including the original event, it is truly awesome!! Indycars going up the hill will be amazing and if you can ever get to it you will never forget the experience. The Goodwood revival meeting is probably more for the purist and is unbelievably exciting. I live too far away nowadays so will miss it yet again. Some of these old boys really have a go at the hill and seeing old boys like Moss having a go is brilliant!! Maybe one day...............

Never been but have always wanted too. But, and please correct me if you've been and I am wrong, doesn't it appear to be turning a bit commercial? Not in the sense that Lord March is making heaps, the event has to pay for itself. In the sense that all these 'celebrity' drivers are coming to BE SEEN and not just to see. Christian Horner going to drive an Infinity M35h up the climb? Why not some former Vauxhall racer take a current Zafira up? Come on. Maybe I'm reading too much into those kinds of things. I hope so.

SP3, yes you are right, it has changed almost beyond recognition. In the early days it was a little like going to a good club meeting, nowadays it is all the bells and whistles and an air of exclusivity now exists. Just as interesting as it ever was but harder to get to see things and now massive crowds. The festival of Speed at least gives you some breathing space!! I do hope you get the chance to go.
