IndyCar » Foyt confirms 2012 deal with Honda

AJ Foyt Racing has confirmed that it will continue with Honda as their engine provider in 2012, when Chevrolet and Lotus enter the series as potential rival suppliers.

When Group Lotus talk about engine development they talk about the new engine family they are developing for their road cars. What engine is the base for the Indy car engines?
Do the teams see a Lotus designed engine as a realistic competitor to Honda?
