hope it has been reinforced... bet it hasn't and 'costs and time' are quoted as reasons why it won't be before the 2012 season - are costs and time a good enough reason to kill our sports stars?
(edit - i know that any or no reason is good enough to kill people!! but having just gone through last week maybe it is time to draw the line)

And you know that car needs to be reinforced how? Because the investigation of Wheldon's accident hasn't finished yet. And from the replay and intial thoughts, Dan's head injury was caused by the angle the car slammed into the wall which was cockpit first which is essentially head first. It was similar to the Greg Moore accident. If you've noticed it's an open cockpit car so it could have happen no matter the reinforcements be it an IndyCar, F1 car or open top sportscar. Massa was almost killed my a flying piece of debris and it had nothing to do with the structure of the car - it was because of the open cockpit.

Dallara makes open cockpit formula cars and sports cars for all types of series over the world for F3, GP2, GP3, Grand AM, Lemans, etc. To suggest that the new IndyCar isn't properly reinforced based on nothing but emotion and bias without any proper data or report is reckless and unfair to Dallara.
