IndyCar » Lotus adds Herta and DRR to 2012 line-up


Lotus Motorsport has announced two more teams that will be using their new specification engine in IndyCar in 2012 - Bryan Herta Autosport and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.

Funny thing: Lotus' street cars uses Toyota-sourced engines, but in Indy Car, they will provide their "own" engines to three different teams...

Their "own" engine does not mean it is going to be built by Lotus themselves. Lotus-badged Indy-Car engines will be built and developed by Cosworth.
Chevy's engine are sourced by Ilmor, and Honda's is built by their own sport arm: HRC.
