Tony Kanaan will start off the qualifying runs at 11am local time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, with Katherine Legge, Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti also out early.

Don't worry, Bom Bom - the race is capped at 33 cars. Even if there really were more than that, only the top 33 make the race.

In this case, the cars labelled with a 'T' that you see in the qualifying order are the drivers' spare cars, which they have to be prepared to run and qualify in case anything happens to their primary car. At Indy, it's the car that is qualified for the race not the driver, so if you don't qualify a T-car then you run the risk of having no back-up and finding yourself out of the race if anything untoward happens.
