IndyCar » Indy 500: Bump Day completes 33-car grid

The starting grid for the 2012 Indianapolis 500 race was finalised early on Bump Day, with the rest of Sunday given over to the teams to make further practice runs.

So that's it, Ryan Briscoe on pole but at least there are 33 cars starting and Mike Conway who might otherwise not have qualified is among them. Great big surprise is Jean Alesi is also among them albeit last! The 'bumping' wasn't really so, just the final 9 of the 33 cars (after 24 'qualified'). As last year showed, anything can happen in this race and it does not mean Briscoe will win. I cant wait for this, the 'Greatset Spectacle in Racing'!!!
